Welcome to the KVN Hurricane Center. Here we will update you on the latest hurricane news as it's happening, as well as providing information on how to prepare in the event of a hurricane.

The total cost of damage from the 2005 Hurricane Season is estimated to be over $100 billion USD; an all-time record, with over a million people left homeless nationwide. Another record broken last year was the number of hurricanes, never before have we gone beyond the English alphabet and into the Greek alphabet.
We have put together a Hurricane Survival Kit list to help ensure your safety this year. Please make sure that you are prepared for this year's hurricane season.
Hurricane Survival Kit
- Water - 1 gallon per person, per day for at least 3-5 days
- Non-perishable food - enough for 3-7days
- Canned food
- Canned juices
- Peanut butter
- Instant coffee/tea
- Baby care items
- Instant formula
- Canned baby food
- Diapers
- Baby wipes
- Manual can opener
- Cash
- Charcoal & lighter fluid
- Prescription Medications - at least a 2 week supply
- Water purification kit
- Disposable plates, utensils, cups
- First Aid Kit
- Masking tape
- Flashlights, lantern
- Battery operated radio
- Battery operated clock

- Mosquito repellent

- Plastic trash bags
- Fire extinguisher
- Cleaning supplies
